Country Star Raises Money and Awareness for His Charity and Wins the Hearts of Millions
Nashville, TN - March 28, 2008…Trace Adkins may not have been crowned “The Celebrity Apprentice,” on last night’s season finale, but he still came out a big winner and accomplished exactly what he set out to do - raise money and awareness for The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN), a cause near and dear to his heart. In the process, the show introduced a humble, funny and genuinely good person to millions of Americans who may not listen to country music.
Adkins, who has long been a staple on the country charts, played the game with integrity and dignity throughout the entire season. And during the final showdown, he was clearly the overall favorite who had won the hearts of his fellow contestants.
Rocker Gene Simmons commented, “Trace Adkins has a quality that is sorely missing in America today, and that’s called a tug of the heart. His voice, his persona, that quiet moment when the flag of the United States of America goes up, there should be a moment of silence for the flag that gave your life possibility, and Trace Adkins has that quality.”
Actor Stephen Baldwin went on to say, “There is no question in my mind that Trace is ten times better than Piers anyday.”
Three-time heavy weight boxing champ Lennox Lewis told Access Hollywood that Simmons said it best, “Trace is the fabric of America…and if you ask me who I would rather have won, it would have to be Trace.”
Adkins also performed his latest number one single, “You’re Gonna Miss This” live in front of 12.1 million viewers who tuned in to watch NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice finale. The song was immediately made available for download on iTunes, with all proceeds going directly to FAAN. The charity single jumped to #1 on the iTunes Country Singles chart overnight and is presently #4 on the overall Top Songs Chart.
Adkins’ latest CD, American Man Greatest Hits Volume II, jumped to #1 on the iTunes Country Albums chart and his entire catalog has seen increases in sales overnight with Greatest Hits Volume I, Songs About Me, Dangerous Man and More all charting.
Adkins has been overwhelmed with response from the public who want to support FAAN. Just this morning, country radio station WRBT-FM in Harrisburg, PA decided to suspend all regular programming to accept requests and dedications for $50 a piece. At press time, the station had already raised over $10,000 dollars for FAAN.
In response to losing to British journalist Piers Morgan, Adkins replies, “Mr. Trump obviously based the decision on the most money that was raised. Its his call and his show. I have no regrets, I wouldn’t have done anything differently. I played the game the way I wanted to and I played it clean.”
He says further that while he won’t miss the intense boardroom situations, Adkins says he enjoyed the experience overall. “I’ll miss the relationships and hanging-out with these people and just the camaraderie. We pulled together and worked hard to try to win money for charity.”
While Trump may have made his decision based on dollar signs and not heartstrings, he was obviously a fan of Adkins saying,”he’s a hell of a singer and one of the nicest guys to ever be in my boardroom…You’re a really special guy, a special human being and I’ll always love you.”

TRACE ADKINS ONE OF FINAL TWO CONTESTANTS ON ‘THE CELEBRITY APPRENTICE’

Country Star Battles To The Finish for Charity As Series Reaches Dramatic Conclusion During Two-Hour Live Finale
Adkins Performs Latest Single On Finale That Will Go On Sale at iTunes Immediately Following Performance
Proceeds To Benefit Adkins’ Charity
Thursday, March 27 on NBC (9pm - 11pm ET/PT)
Nashville, TN - March 24, 2008…Out of fourteen original contestants, Trace Adkins is one of the last two players competing for the championship crown on the two-hour live finale of ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ Thursday, March 27 (9-11pm ET/PT; NBC). It will be the final boardroom showdown between the country music star and British tabloid editor/’America’s Got Talent’ Judge, Piers Morgan, as Trump makes his final decision and awards a $250K bonus check to the winner’s charity.
The final face-off has the two celebrities preparing for a charity auction and performance by multi-platinum group, The Backstreet Boys. They use every bit of star power to battle it out in the final task. Adkins faces the demands of the band, while Morgan is let down by celebrity helper, Stephen Baldwin. With the auction completed, Trump faces his final decision - who will be hired as ‘The Celebrity Apprentice.’
This first season of ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ offered a unique twist. The popular hit series showcased celebrities without their usual ’support system’ of agents, managers and publicists, trying to lead teams and win tasks, all for their designated charity. Over the course of the season, over $1 million dollars was raised for 14 different charities - an Apprentice first, and 9.2 million viewers tuned in to watch these celebrities play with passion and heart all in the name of
raising money and awareness for their selected organizations.
Throughout the series Adkins developed several marketing concepts that helped keep him in the game and were deemed effective enough to be used by several companies. He wrote and narrated “The Pedigree Dog Adoption” commercial that was broadcast on USA Network during February’s Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. When asked to develop an awareness campaign for the Crocs’ shoe donation program, Adkins suggested, “Wear ‘em, share ‘em,” which evolved into “Wear a pair, share a pair,” a slogan that Crocs has adopted and is using on their website. For the Quiznos competition, Adkins created a new sandwich called the “Prime Rib Cowboy Club” that is now for sale for a limited time in over 5,000 Quiznos locations across the country.
Although he has continuously impressed his teammates and viewers with his ideas and determination to play the game with integrity, Adkins admits he didn’t expect to make it this far in the competition.
“I’m really surprised to be here and extremely proud to be representing FAAN,” says Adkins. “I intend to conclude my time on this show with my dignity in tact, and I will try to be as respectful as Piers will allow me to be.”
VIEWERS CAN SUPPORT TRACE ADKINS CHARITY: During the finale, Adkins will perform his current #2 single “You’re Gonna Miss This” live with his band. Immediately following his performance, the single will be made available for download at iTunes.com with proceeds benefiting his charity, FAAN (Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network), the largest charity in the U.S. dedicated to helping and advocating for the 12 million Americans with food allergy. The charity single will be available for two weeks exclusively at iTunes.
NBC GIVES VIEWERS A CHANCE TO SUPPORT FINALISTS’ CHARITIES: NBC is also giving viewers a chance to lend a hand and support the charities attached to the show’s finalists. Beginning March 27th viewers will be able to donate to the two finalists’ charities by texting the message TRUMP to 30101. Cost per text is $1.00, plus participating service providers may charge additional text messaging fees. Net proceeds will be donated to the finalists’ charities. Viewers who text will receive a video message from Donald Trump thanking them for their generosity. Viewers can go to www.nbc.com/The_Celebrity_Apprentice for complete details. Entrants must be 18 or older.
Adkins signed on to participate in ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ to create more awareness for the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network because his 6-year-old daughter suffers from severe food allergies. To learn more about the organization, visit www.foodallergy.org.

Trace Adkins Hailed By “Apprentice” Pal
By Marti | March 22, 2008
March 21, 2008 — With last night’s episode of “The Celebrity Apprentice” now complete, only one more installment remains for the NBC show, with Trace Adkins squaring off against TV personality Piers Morgan for the victory.
Trace’s quiet demeanor led some of the other players to think he was a bit of a pushover at first, but they soon discovered he had a lot of leadership qualities.
“I got to work with him a couple times, and he was great,” Marilu Henner says. “He really played to everybody’s strengths. We’d get the tasks, and he’d say, ‘OK, I was thinkin’ that I’d do this. Can you handle that?’ ‘Yeah, I can do that.’ ‘So you’re gonna do that.’ He was very good at delegating, very good at letting each of us come up to our best efforts, and really inspirational as a leader. And when we worked together, it was some of the most special moments that I experienced on ‘The Apprentice.’ You always felt like you could play your best, and it wasn’t like you were looking to trip each other up.”
For the final task, Trace chose Marilu and boxer Lennox Lewis to join him as they prepare a charity concert in New York featuring the Backstreet Boys. If last night’s storyline holds true, Montgomery Gentry, Ronnie Milsap and Lonestar’s Dean Sams might all be seen at the event — an event which was already testing Trace’s patience in last night’s episode.
Trace needed to negotiate some changes in the accommodations for the pop band, and he was frustrated by some of the things they requested, including wheatgrass, which Trace had never heard of.
“Talkin’ to the Backstreet Boys,” he said, “is time out of my life that I’ll never get back.”
NBC closed the show by painting next week’s challenge as “the arrogant Brit vs. the American cowboy.” And the winner is…
